Lingerie Patrol™: The 2019 Grammys

Sunday’s 2019 Grammys red carpet, much like the past year’s musical offerings, gave us plenty to talk about. As usual, attendees used their time on the carpet to showcase their personal style in daring, artsy, and flashy looks.

It’s during awards shows like The Grammys that people watching at home marvel at how some of the celebrities are able to pull off those tricky – and sometimes skimpy (not to mention gravity-defiant) – looks. Gowns with dangerously deep necklines, low backs, off-the-shoulder sleeves, strapless and strappy tops flood the red carpet on that one special night. But what are they wearing underneath to pull the whole look together?

Below, I discuss some of my favorite looks for the night and show you the lingerie that can make it work for you.

Lady Gaga

Sequin Silver Strapless Celine Dress by Hedi Slimane

Gaga went for a bold disco ball glam look in a metallic formfitting silver strapless dress with a sculpted accent and a high slit in the leg. To add to the head-to-toe sparkle, she also wore over 100 carats in diamonds.

Couture Sleeveless Ralph & Russo Gown

I have mixed feelings about JLo’s fashion choices here. Her dress, as stunning as it was, was quite literally overshadowed by her over-the-top wide brimmed hat. But for the sake of our purposes, let’s focus on her gorgeous dress.

Camila Cabello wore a glitzy full-length magenta gown. It featured a high neck in the front, long sleeves and a sexy (and tasteful) open back.

This delicate baby pink tulle gown featured lovely tulle fan-like detail in the top, a romantic red sash around the middle, a fitted drop waist, and a full and flowing tulle skirt.

This gorgeous, curve-hugging cherry red gown has a deep plunging neckline, long sleeves and buttons all the day down the front that begin at the low-cut top end end around the gown hits her knees.
