Every year, Pantone’s color experts analyze current trends related to design, film, art, fashion and entertainment – and then they use their findings and expertise to select the highly anticipated Pantone Color of the Year. A reflection of current events and predictions about the future, the Pantone Color of the Year sets the tone for design elements and fashion trends around the world.
Much like choosing the color that will set a cross-industry standard for an entire year, choosing, fitting and matching lingerie is an artform. That’s why I always look forward to Pantone’s Color of the Year announcement and love incorporating that color into the lingerie I choose for myself and recommend to others.
The 2018 Pantone Color of the Year is Ultra Violet 18-3838. This thoughtful, blue-based purple shade is rich and regal with deep, slightly dark undertones. Pantone describes Ultra Violet as a “provocative and thoughtful purple shade that embodies individuality and spirituality.” And who doesn’t want something provocative in their lingerie drawer?
